Loading cases of body bags and pre-filling casualty feeder cards are two of the lousiest and most demotivating pre-deployment details. Seeing a burned up tank is none too good for your morale either, but that was several pages ago...

It is super morbid and maybe this is a chore that should've been knocked out en route to theater in "Kuwait" or wherever they stage the relief convoys... I know that a positive attitude only goes so far, but this puts a bad bad taste into a new report when the line unit has to handle it.

Actually, I don't even know if the joes fill out feeder cards any more or if it's automatically generated. I just remember thinking how absurd it was when I had to fill one out and I wanted to throw it in the comic. Plus it's a bit of foreshadowing:
