Thrill to yet more walking and talking as Newcom is taken to her private quarters... a conex.

I'm going to start experimenting with the images, to distract from the lack of action in this action comic. In this one I tried toning down the lines. I tried eliminating them altogether and going for a world war robot kind of ambiguity, but the balloons - and there's more of them than a ten year olds birthday party - were too jarring. I think it would work if there was no talking.

A container? What's wrong with that? The CHUs in Camp Victory were pretty much containers (albeit ones with windows and doors).

Shouldn't this firebase have more mitigation measures for indirect fire?

We'll see in the next page this actually a pretty dope hooch, not that Newcom will appreciate it... until she realizes that some people are genuinely just trying to help.

You're probably right about the indirect fire. You'll be seeing a lot more sandbags going forward, the shower tent (that's right!) is already piled up. Truth is, I'm kind of out on a limb with FOB Cowboy, sort of making it up as I go. Back in my day (by cracky), your hooch was a tarp draped over the main gun and a shower was a five gallon can of water. But nobody really snipes at a tank company in the field, or tries to drop mortars on them.

I'm not even really sure how big Cowboy is. I think it was a battalion sized post that's currently just occupied by a company, on account of the drawdown. That's why you don't see more people - not because I'm lazy... not that.
