this strikes me as the sort of built up terrain where light infantry has their best chance to take out armor

could they maybe have done this at night, or otherwise under more favorable conditions?

Or an 'it's easier to draw it in daylight' success ;)
If I recall, some of the worst amushes and battles happened during daylight hours ?
Lack of NVG on the jihadi's part might have had something to do with that.

Can't wait to see if they shoot back once they start taking fire from the 'mosque-like building' of which so many turn out to be ammo dumps and/or rocket launch sites that the politicians say you're not allowed to hit.
