FOB Joker is a little smaller, rougher and more exposed than Cowboy. I would have done an establishing shot but I liked transitioning via the phone call better. The mightiest weapon at Joker is the radio/digital commo wielded by the forward observer, or FIST, and the tons of high explosive it can call down from the heavens. There's no armor at Joker. To mangle Harold Coyle, the guys at Joker think a fifty cal is a big gun...

edit in b4 anyone notices that Buck was using a landline before, but now he's on a cell phone. I'm not going to fix it. Can't go backwards, only forward.

What's the phrase for calling down an airstrike on your own position? (Is it "Danger Close"?)

Why do I think that may be relevant piece of information shortly?

I think danger close is anything within 100 meters... yup these guys are definitely going to be on the phone pretty soon!

A 50 cal is nothing to sneeze at. It can punch holes through a lot of shit.

100% agree - but it’s an afterthought compared to the 120 mm smoothbore!

Of course gun bunnies probably say “tankers think 120 mm is big” because they’re flinging 155’s around. And naval artillery laughs at them all... except maybe those guys who live in silos and have to turn two keys simultaneously to bust caps...
