When Mack says "feed you," he's talking about sending someone to be assistant gunner on the fifty. It's nice to have a helper for prepping the next ammo can and resolving stoppages and what not. I'm hoping the imagery of Mack loading his 240 conveys that, but one might ask why he hasn't already loaded it.

Also, the mid-page sequence got a little confusing, so I put those stupid arrows in. I don't think it helped.

Finally, Arif is obviously not thinking clearly. Driving at high speed toward an outpost under mortar fire...

Get up! That 50th is just what that truck needs.

Yup! Of course, they say a machine gun is an “area effect” weapon... bullets like to spread out!

Not a fan of the arrows either.

Nice car chase in the final panel!

Thanks! This chase is coming to an abrupt halt...

I hope someone checked the head space and timing on the 50 before starting to fire. I had a 1LT roommate at Ft Carson who had once neglected to do that during a training exercise. The skin on his stomach looked like a road map.

I never understood why they couldn't engineer a fix to the M2 that eliminated headspace and timing adjustments. Does the commie 12.7 need a headspace and timing gage, which invariably gets lost? I'll bet it doesn't.

The only other machine-gun I know anything about is the M240, and it sure doesn't need its headspace and timing adjusted. Does the M60?

Don't forget to back that barrel off two clicks! Or is it three, I guess I forgot...

The M60 doesn't have a headspace and timing issue. Am not familiar with any other machine guns. Been out of that loop for too long. 47 years now. Maybe some more recent vets can chime in.
