It almost looks like it was done with a palette knife.
Interesting choice of style but one I've always liked :)

I couldn’t get the hang of that pallet knife… this one is some kinda bristle brush. I figured I’d just stick with one for a while but you see guys on YouTube using all kinds of special brushes…

I'm going to work on faces for a while and when I get the hang of it I'll do something bigger... it helps to zoom in on something small so the color blobs are bigger and easier to find.
