Yeah, there's a definite paradox happening here. The political setting is "tomorrow" but the technology is rooted in stuff I'm familiar with, which is pretty outdated. Hence T-62's and 5 tons, unarmored hummers, Bradleys instead of Strikers...
The "in-world" excuse is that the war is supposedly all but over (except its not), and most units are either withdrawing to the ports, or standing by to withdraw. Except poor old Bravo Tanks. The MRAPs might be gone already.
Or I might get have to get off my ass and learn about MRAPs...
