I think that’s true generally. There’s a broader morale problem here, linked to the perception by the troops that they don’t really have a mission anymore and are just waiting in line to go home. It’s not limited to B Co, but has been pervasive throughout the theater. Buck had to lock up that staff duty kid way back at Calamity Field, then he ripped the convoy leadership new ones for being too slow to react to an ambush... even Mack told a Lieutenant he didn’t know at all not to get her “undies in a bunch.” And I’m playing Buck and Mack as the “professional” soldiers... None of those things should be happening. Not to mention the rest of the platoon leadership at the mess hall, whose behavior the CO turned a blind eye to.
The whole theatre is suffering from “let’s get the fuck outta here”itis, and they’re going to pay for it....
